OSHPD Upgrades to e-PlanREVIEW® and Partners with Velosimo to Connect to their Accela Civic Platform - e-PlanSoft

For Immediate Release: October 4, 2019 – Irvine, CA | OSHPD, the Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development, is now live with e-PlanREVIEW® (EPR) using Velosimo Connect (VC) iPaaS platform to integrate to their existing Accela Civic Platform. After months of testing, the health agency has joined the ranks of various governmental agencies who have chosen e-PlanSoft™ and Velosimo to handle their plan review needs. Implementation of the newest plan review software will benefit the agency’s 178 users and 50 contributors split between their Sacramento and LA offices.

With this upgrade of technology, OSHPD users gain a central web portal, trackable document versioning, and multiple view document overlay capabilities among other features designed to aid collaboration and reduce plan review turnaround time.

This is not OSHPD’s first time working with e-PlanSoft™ having initially started using ePC a legacy product in 2015.  Transitioning to e-PlanREVIEW® this year involved migrating all prior data to a secure cloud environment. e-PlanSoft™ worked closely with OSHPD to scope their project to include an on-premise implementation that would integrate to the Accela Civic Platform and therefore give their users access to the Accela Citizen Access portal for permit applications, fee payments, and document uploads. This new integration was possible through the use of the VC platform that connects to Accela Construct APIs to provide a strong integration between EPR and Accela while enhancing the current Accela configurations.

Through the VC Platform, e-PlanSoft™ has a single point of access to all backend systems for OSHPD. Velosimo oversees the API and connections enabling a faster on-premise experience for the SaaS users involved. Results from the transition to e-PlanREVIEW® so far have included a successful implementation completed in a 6-month timeline, the reduction of project costs for plan reviews, and the average plan review turnaround time was reduced by 4 weeks.

OSHPD reviews health facility construction plans to ensure more than 1,700   facilities containing more than 4,000 buildings meet California building codes and State seismic safety standards. The department safeguards life, health, property, and public welfare by regulating the design, construction, quality of materials, use and occupancy, location, and maintenance of all buildings, structures, and equipment in facilities under its jurisdiction.

OSHPD’s Business Process Manager, Gary Dunger, is scheduled to present at the 2019 Accelarate Conference in Denver, CO on Tuesday, Oct 7^th about the benefits of EPR and it reduced the time and cost of plan review and improved their interactions with clients.
