City of Safety Harbor, FL Modernizes with e-PlanREVIEW from e-PlanSoft

IRVINE, CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES --— The City of Safety Harbor, Florida has successfully implemented e-PlanREVIEW through a partnership with e-PlanSoft, a leading provider of cloud-based plan review solutions. The move to electronic plan review reflects Safety Harbor City Commission’s ongoing commitment to streamlining development-related processes. Previously dependent on paper-based submissions, scanned plans, and inconsistent markup methods across departments, the City’s Community Development team sought a more efficient, unified approach. “With e-PlanREVIEW, we are able to eliminate the inefficiencies of manual processes and bring consistency to plan review,” said Assistant Community Development Director Derek Reeves. “This will improve clarity for both staff and applicants.”

Since going live with e-PlanREVIEW, Safety Harbor has expanded its online permit types from five to 37. Any permit application that includes plan review will utilize e-PlanREVIEW, resulting in significant time and cost savings for applicants. “This change is also a direct response to applicant needs,” added Community Development Director Carol Stricklin. “Applicants can now submit plans anytime without the need to print or physically deliver documents. That flexibility reduces costs and increases convenience for businesses and contractors.”

City staff have responded positively to the change as well. Reviewers have undergone training sessions and adoption has been well received. “This has been one of the best permitting system implementations I’ve been part of,” noted Reeves, who has overseen similar rollouts in other jurisdictions. He credited the success to e-PlanSoft’s responsive support and seamless integration with the City’s permitting system.
