Scott Malabarba is a seasoned freelance software engineer and architect with over twenty-three years of experience in the tech industry. His career is marked by roles as a Fractional CTO and startup mentor, significantly contributing to the growth of a Y Combinator-backed SaaS company. Currently, Scott is the CTO at E-PlanSoft, where he refines engineering processes and cultivates a robust team environment. He has also served as a Solutions Architect at Fraction.Work and is building the architectural framework for a nascent AI startup at Trustible.

Scott's expertise has been honed at companies like FiscalNote, DigiBuild Software, Lava.AI, Veritone, and IBM. At Veritone, he notably transformed a 150-microservice environment into a unified GraphQL API, handling millions of hits per hour with outstanding reliability. His educational background includes a B.S. in Cybernetics from UCLA and an M.S. in Computer Science from UC Davis. He holds numerous publications and patents in software applications and dynamic systems, including key patents in document feature extraction and semantic graph search.

Outside of his professional life, Scott holds a first-degree black belt and serves as a class instructor in Tang Soo Do. He is also a passionate science fiction and fantasy novelist and an amateur conlanger, creating languages for his fictional universes.
