AGC SmartBrief, Sep. 26, 2011: Nearly 80 companies worked with business students to target emissions and energy inefficiencies, leading to programs expected to save a collective $650 million. Annual carbon dioxide emissions will be reduced by 440,000 metric tons, with 600 million kilowatt-hours of electricity no longer needed each year. “The focus will continue to be on building the business case for energy efficiency, helping organizations find quick wins and low- or no-cost investments that deliver big benefits in energy savings and carbon reductions,” said Victoria Mills, managing director of the Environmental Defense Fund’s Climate Corps.
